On June 21, Houston will join cities around the world to mark Make Music Day. Since its launch in France in 1982 as the Fête de la Musique (meaning both “festival of music” and “make music”), the event has grown to span more than 2,000 cities in 120 countries. More than 5.3 million music-making events took place nationwide in 2025.
